  The last 2 shipments I got I received a phone call from the driver right before his arrival stating if I didn't have someone here to pull his hose up my yard he would not be delivering my oil. The last time I was alone so he said he wasn't coming. Luckily my neighbor pulled in right after and offered to help, So I called him back and did get my oil. When news came of that last storm we were getting I called Thorton at 9 am and ordered 100 gallons. I was told then they would make a delivery in a day or two. At 3 pm as I was just getting to work I got a phone call from the owner stating they would no longer be delivering here for at least a week and a half. I canceled the delivery as I knew I would run out long before then. Yesterday I called at 9am when Thorton opened and placed another order for 100 gallons. I was again told in a day or two they would deliver my oil. Once again around 3pm my phone rings and the owner of Thorton is calling. This time she was informing me that my account had been deleted from their records and they would no longer be delivering here at all. When I asked why she said because the driver doesnt like walking up the hill in my yard. I informed her we had given them thousands and thousands of dollars and this was the second time they had screwed me over, which was completely unacceptable. She said and I quote, "I suggest you open up the yellow pages and find a new oil company because we will no longer be bringing you oil." At this point my politeness went right out the window & I told her exactly what I thought about her business practices and her driver... who happens to be her son. I explained to her the unprofessional way he had insisted someone else do his job for him when he made my last two deliveries, and how they had completely screwed me not once but twice by calling to cancel deliveries I had already been counting on. I brought to her attention several other stories I had heard from customers of theirs who they had also screwed recently, one of which who's $1000 check they had picked up despite the fact that they never made the delivery claiming there was no where to park their truck. She obviously wasn't concerned about any of that because she chose to hang up on me rather than handle the situation like a professional business owner. If you receive oil from Thorton, please for the love of God have a back up plan. Don't count on them to bring your oil when promised. If enough people call for a bigger shipment than you, you will be pushed back. I am eternally grateful to Martin Oil Co for agreeing to squeeze me in to their busy schedule for a delivery tomorrow after hearing about how Thorton has treated my family. They are also cheaper than Thorton so they are saving me money as well as saving me from having to once again spend my oil money on diesel fuel. I have never in my life been as appalled with the conduct and business practices of a company as I am with Thorton Oil Company. I just hope this review saves another family from having to deal with the unnecessary stress and frustration that they have caused me after being a loyal customer of theirs. This whole situation is completely unacceptable.
